Child Find Awareness

Students with Special Education needs.   Stuttgart Public Schools, in conjunction with the Arkansas Department of Education, took part in the “Child Find Awareness Program” during the month of August. The purpose of the campaign is to locate children, up to the age of 21 that have special needs.Stuttgart Public Schools provides comprehensive special education services for school-age children. If parents suspect their school-age child has a disability, they should contact the principal of the school their child attends or call Special Education Director, Ann Johnson at 870-673-3561.For information regarding pre-school services for children, ages 3-5, please call Arkansas River Educational Service Cooperative, Early Childhood Department, at 870-534-0135. The pre-school program provides educational evaluation, academic instruction, speech/language, and physical/occupational therapies. For information regarding services for children up to age 3, please call 1-800-643-8528 and ask for the Early Intervention Department.
