The Stuttgart Public School District is pursuing the possible implementation of a  hybrid calendar, also known as a balanced calendar for the 2024-25 school year. A hybrid calendar still encompasses 178 student learning days and 190 teacher contract days. The hybrid calendar aims to reduce the long summer break, which is associated with learning loss. Shorter, more frequent breaks can help students retain information better and maintain a more consistent level of academic progress. Other benefits include; improved attendance among students and staff, reduction of students and staff burnout, and better utilization of staff to meet student needs. The proposed hybrid calendar has been presented to all staff for a vote. Once the staff vote is complete, the school district will seek community input before revisions are made on the final proposed hybrid calendar.
