BIRDS WIN! Stuttgart battles for a 27-12 victory over Forrest City! #gobirds

Many of our Ricebirds attend career training courses at the PCCUA-Stuttgart Secondary Center. Advanced Manufacturing students have been learning the importance of industrial safety and how to properly use safety equipment for various tasks. Medical Professions students heard from Dr. Peighton Taylor, who provided a look into her career as a physical therapist. Students learned about possible education paths and the diverse working environments in the area of physical therapy and were able to practice physical therapy exercises on simulated patients. #FutureReady

Stuttgart High School hosted the ArkACRO College and Career Fair today in the SHS gym! Schools from around the Grand Prairie joined SHS 10th-12th graders to learn more about a variety of college, career, and military opportunities after high school! #FutureReady #GoBirds

There were six events: paper straw javelin throw, paper plate discus, cotton ball shot, right-handed marble grab, left-handed sponge squeeze and Big Foot was here! The first Ricebird pep rally of the year will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the SHS gym! Parents attending the pep rally may enter the gym through the student parking lot entrance. UPDATE: This week's Ricebird football game times have been changed due to this week's excessive heat forecast. The 7th grade Ricebirds will now host Warren at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Ned Moseley Stadium. The Junior Ricebirds will take on Warren 20 minutes after the 7th grade game ends. The Senior Ricebirds will travel to Warren Friday night with an 8:00 p.m. kickoff.

Due to this week's excessive heat forecast, several Ricebird athletic events have been canceled. Today's eighth grade and JV football games at Bauxite, today's JV tennis match against England, and Tuesday's golf match at the Stuttgart Country Club and tennis match at Star City have all been canceled. The Junior Ricebirds football team will practice at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and the Senior Ricebirds will practice from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on those days. The 7th grade Birds will be practicing indoors.

Due to extreme heat forecasted next week, the junior football Ricebirds will practice on Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. and the senior Ricebirds will practice from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
