It’s National School Resource Officer Day! We are so grateful for Sgt. Colvin, Officer White, and Officer Holmes for keeping our students and staff safe each day!

It's Game Day! The junior boys basketball team will travel to Warren tonight to take on Monticello in the district championship! Tipoff is set for 7:15 p.m.

SHS had 4 students to place at the DECA SCDC competition in Springdale. Congratulations to: Carrington Thompson, 3rd place in Hotel & Lodging Management; Kaylin Lindsey, 4th place in Marketing Communications; Emily Mitchell, 6th place in Retail Merchandising; and Ainsley Noble, 6th place in Human Resource Management.

Thank you to Kevin Newton with Walmart Stuttgart for donating sandwiches and Mrs. Annette Bledsoe for providing chips and cookies for the UAPB Pep Band today!

Don't forget! Parent-teacher conferences will be held from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at SHS! Parents may pick up interim report cards in the front office. Students will dismiss at 1:30 p.m.

Congratulations to the junior boys basketball team on its 48-28 win over Star City in the semifinals of the regional tournament! The junior Birds will compete in the regional finals at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in Warren!

Seniors with a 2.0 or higher GPA received local scholarship packets in their English classes today. Packets should be completed and turned in to Mrs. Sherman by 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 28th. Any senior that did not receive their packet can stop by the counselor's office to pick theirs up.

Congratulations to the SHS Archery team on qualifying for state! The state tournament will be held March 4th in Hot Springs.

The SHS Archery team competed in its regional tournament Thursday! Junior Kathryn Skinner (282 out of 300), freshman Nathan Skinner (276 out of 300), junior McClain Derden (266 out of 300), and freshman Kaylee Logsdon (262 out of 300) were the top Ricebird shooters! We're back! Students will report to third period at 10:00 a.m. Friday and follow our regular bell schedule for the remainder of the day. The ACT Prep Workshop for juniors - originally planned for Friday at the Grand Prairie Center - will be rescheduled.

Art students are adding some beauty to the halls of SHS! Students created their own art inspired by Black artists they are studying in Art I.
